Statement of Faith
GOD
We confess that, in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. We also confess that there is only one God, eternal, existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. God is a Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth. (John 4:24; Genesis 1:1)
MAN
We confess that God created man in His image and likeness, and that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. God endowed man with free will, moral character, and a spiritual nature. However, man fell from God’s glory and purpose when tempted in the Garden of Eden. We acknowledge this disobedience as sin, which brought universal guilt upon all humanity. Fallen man can be restored through salvation by the blood of Christ (the New Birth), which serves as redemption for the sin of man.
(Genesis 1:26; Ephesians 2:13)
JESUS
We confess that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, and the only begotten Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. We confess that Jesus came in the flesh, was tempted in every way as we are, yet without sin. He was crucified, buried, and resurrected on the third day. He ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God, making intercession for us. Jesus paid the penalty for sin and is the redemption for all mankind. We believe that Jesus will return a second time to receive His Bride, the Church, unto Himself. (Matthew 24:27; Acts 4:12)
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We confess that the Holy Spirit is a person of the Trinity within the Godhead. We confess that salvation is divinely confirmed by the fruit of the Holy Spirit’s indwelling presence. He is the Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead and is the baptism of power, as demonstrated on the day of Pentecost in the upper room. We confess that this baptism of power is the anointing that equips believers for service, a distinct work of grace received after regeneration. We believe the Holy Spirit leads, guides, convicts, comforts, and reproves the world of sin. He imparts the divine nature of God to the believer and gives Spiritual gifts to the Church, which is the body of Christ.
(1 Corinthians 12)
THE WORD OF GOD
We confess that in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. We believe that all Scripture is given by the inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness. We believe that the Word of God is infallible, inerrant, and eternal, and that man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. (2 Timothy 3:16)
Biblical Practices of Oasis Tabernacle
Our membership structure is built on a commitment of honor and service to one another as a local body of believers. Within this body, there are functioning Spiritual gifts recognized through the authority of ordination. These gifts include Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers, as outlined in Ephesians 4:11.
The office of Deacon is also established for oversight in specific matters and to address the practical needs of the body, with individuals appointed to this role. Other functioning gifts within the body are found throughout the New Testament, particularly in 1 Corinthians 12:28.
While we do not have a written practical standard, we teach that the issues of the heart are to be in continual subjection to the holiness of God in everyday living.
