ABOUT US: The Beginnings of Oasis Tabernacle

Oasis Tabernacle, originally known as Crossroads Mission Church, has a story rooted in faith, perseverance, and a desire for deeper spiritual truth. The journey began with Wayne Weaver, a man whose life was transformed through a profound spiritual encounter and whose calling led him to establish a church community centered around the teachings of the Bible and the power of the Holy Spirit.

Wayne Weaver’s life took a significant turn when, after years of personal struggles and spiritual battles, he experienced a deep and genuine repentance. This was not just a repentance of actions but a turning away from his own way, a concept he discovered in Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

It marked a revolutionary moment in his life, leading him to fast and pray for 30 days. Toward the end of this spiritual quest, Wayne encountered what he described as a “heavenly cloudburst,” an experience that mirrored the baptism of the Holy Spirit described in the Bible. This encounter filled Wayne with an unquenchable hunger for God’s Word and transformed his life, inspiring him to share this truth with others.

Wayne's message, rooted in the Bible's teachings, was met with resistance from some who held on to traditional practices and cultural norms. Despite this, Wayne continued to minister, forming a prayer group that brought deliverance and life transformation to many. His boldness in identifying and addressing spiritual strongholds in his community created both opposition and deep change.

In the fall of 1986, a small group met in the basement of one of the member’s homes near Berlin, Ohio. The group became Crossroads Mission Church, and later renamed Oasis Tabernacle.

Over the years, Oasis Tabernacle has become a place where lives are transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit and where individuals are led into a deeper relationship with God. Today, Wayne Weaver serves as the Senior Pastor, along with a team of ministers and volunteers, who continue the mission of leading others into a life-changing encounter with Christ.
